COVID-19 VACCINATION INFORMATION

Covid-19 Vaccine

Astra-Zeneca Vaccine

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has said there is no evidence the vaccine had caused problems, and people should still go and get vaccinated when asked to do so. "Blood clots can occur naturally and are not uncommon. More than 11 million doses of the Covid-19 AstraZeneca vaccine have now been administered across the UK," said Phil Bryan of the MHRA.

Thank you to all our patients for your support and understanding of the mammoth unprecedented vaccination campaign we are undertaking.

We are working with 5 other practices to roll out the vaccination plan as fast as we can, bearing in mind we have had last minute changes and are reliant on vaccine deliveries alongside logistical issues.

We are working through the priority groups as set out by JCVI, people will not be forgotten but please do not call the practice - we will contact you.

We are also receiving many calls regarding second doses. As soon as we have further information we will contact you so there is again no need to contact the Practice. We have systems in place ready to go as soon as we are given the second dose vaccine delivery dates

Our staff are working really hard and your support is truly appreciated.

.

IF YOU RECEIVE A LETTER, FROM NHS ENGLAND, INVITING YOU TO ATTEND THE FOLKESTONE OR CANTERBURY VACCINATION HUB AND YOU DO NOT WISH TO ATTEND EITHER OF THESE VENUES, YOU WILL STILL REMAIN ON THE SURGERY WAITING LIST, YOU WILL NOT BE PUT TO THE BOTTOM, AND YOU DO NOT NEED TO CONTACT THE SURGERY AS WE ARE CONTINUING TO WORK THROUGH OUR LIST.

Priority List

We are now contacting patients, who are in Group 5, 6, 7 and 8 in regards to booking an appointment for the Covid-19 vaccination. We are also contacting patients for their 2nd dose who had their 1st just before Christmas.

Please help protect yourself, friends and loved ones by getting vaccinated when you are invited.

**We have been made aware that there are a number of scams regarding the Covid-19 Vaccination, a Practice in the Ashford area reported that an elderly patient of theirs was contacted in regards to receiving a Covid Vaccination, at home, for a charge. This is a scam.

Another we have been alerted to is an automated phone call asking the patient to press a number to go further in booking a Covid-19 vaccination, this is also a scam. Any concerns please contact the surgery via Phone call or Econsult**
